History of Cellphone (China)

In life, communicating with one another is a very crucial thing. In the olden times, people are used to transmit messages from one person to another. After sometime, letter writing was used. As you can see, the way of communication kept on advancing from time to time but now, what is the most commonly used means of communication? I can say that it’s the cellphone. Have you ever wondered on how cellphone evolved from time to time?

According to an anonymous author, in 1843, Michael Faraday conducted researches and experiments to see whether space could conduct electricity. In 1865, Dr. Mahlon Loomis of Virginia might be the first person to transmit communication wirelessly. In 1973, Dr. Martin Cooper, he was recognized as the inventor of the first portable headset. “Doctor Cooper setup a base station in New York with the first working prototype of a cellular phone.” In 1977, Cellular phones were opened to public. (http://cellphones.org/cell-phone-history.html) Basically, this timeline shows that as early as the 19th century, people are already trying to find ways to communicate through space.

In China, according to Wikipedia, wireless telephone was started by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of China using GSM technology in 1987. In 2000, there are 2 companies namely China mobile and China Unicorn and 1 fixed company named China Telecom. In 2002, the China Telecom was split into China Netcom and China Telecom for North and South China respectively. In 2008, there is another reorganization of the telecom Industry. After the reorganization, there are 3 cellphone providers left namely China Mobile, China Unicorn, and China telecom. In addition, there are also foreign companies like Datang Telecom, Huawei, ZTE and more that contributes to the mobile industry of China. In general, China produces almost 50% of all the cellphones on the world.

There are so many mobile phone manufacturers for China. They have Nokia, Blackberry, Apple, Lenovo, Huawei, Motorola, and many more. These only show the advancement of cellphones not only on China but on the whole world itself. Way back, cellphones are only simple. Some even look like walky talky. But now, the cellphones are great. It can even track GPS and more. From simple phones, it became a little complicated then became smartphones and IPhones. These simple things show how knowledge advances very fast. Overall I say that having cellphone is great and it is a simple solution in solving some problems in life.
